Defections in A-Ibom impracticable —Ibom Patriots

Following rumours of members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Akwa Ibom State, members of Ibom Patriots, have described defection as impracticable.
Those in middle of the rumour are immediate past Commissioner for Transport, Dr Godwin Ntukude, Chairman of Ibom Power, Engr Etido Inyang, State Commissioner for Environment, Dr Eniobong Essien, and Special Adviser, Bureau of Political and Legislative Affairs.
Others include Mr Ekong Sampson, Usenebong Akpabio, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof Comfort Ekpo, Eno Akpan, former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ekpenyong Ntekim, Okon Emah, among several notable PDP bigwigs in the state.
Rising from a meeting in Uyo, members of the group acknowledged the defection plans but passed it off as impracticable.
Chancellor of the group, Obong Bassey Inuayen, said: “We have read the rumour that Deacon Udom Emmanuel plans to defect to APC. We believe those peddling the rumours are hallucinating. It is not possible.”
