The Eugenia Abu-led week-long annual summer writing boot camp for children, aged between 7 and 14 years, The Treasured Writers, TTW, begins in Abuja tomorrow to the 25th of August 2018.
The boot camp holding at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Center, with the theme Waste to Wealth, will handled by “ Our guest resource person,Upcycle Architect, Binta Garba who would be teaching the children upcycle techniques of converting something considered worthless into a valuable and worthy item. Sub themes for this year include short story writing, virtues of kindness, public speaking and money management.
The Parent and children’s debate which is one of our high points will still take place and there will be book buying trips, movie watching trips and our popular link a story segment. This segment sees every participant contributing to a short story built by everyone.
As with every year, there will be an election to elect the 2018 TTW Ambassador and we will be teaching winning graciously and losing gallantly as well as the importance of contesting ethically. Also there will be a party for the children at the end of the boot camp on the 25th of August 2018.
Veteran Broadcaster and Writer will again facilitate this edition with other facilitators and an array of resource persons and volunteers to manage the children.
